special forces philosophy
We will approach Special Forces with a greater sense of urgency than any other team. This will be an advantage for our football team. Each of the teams has a military name that is represented on the Special Forces Shield. That shield is a symbol of our commitment to dominating in this phase of the game. We will use the best player available for the specific skill set, not just people we want to get in the game. Players that are on these teams truly are special and should be treated as such. We will be aggressive, and we will change the game.
Delta (Punt Team)
This is the most important play in football. The only play that can consistently average 40 yards of field position. We will use multiple punt formations to cause opponents to prepare more for a fake than they do a block or return.
Recon (Punt Return/Block)
We will block punts. This is a special team that can drastically change a game in a hurry. We will always give the impression of a block even in a return look. We will try to catch all catchable punts in the air and limit the net gain on the punt.
Airborne (Kickoff Coverage)
The key to this team is effort and tenacity. We need to find ten people to take the field that will be willing to fly down with reckless abandon, and put their body on the line for the team.
Rangers (Kickoff Return)
We will dominate field position on our kickoff return team. Utilizing athletic players to get position blocks we will target returning every returnable kick past the 40 yard line. We will have a man on blocking scheme with a few different options. We will get the ball in our best returners hands.
Snipers (Field Goal / PAT)
It all starts with protection. We will be 100% on PAT’s. On field goals we need to identify our best option as a kicker and get a clear idea of what his range is. We need to know where he can be 75% accurate from.
Seals (Field Goal Block)
We will generate an interior and exterior block while still maintaining coverage on fake possibilities. We need to identify two people that can come off the edge to get a kick. In addition we need two interior people that can get push and block a kick inside.
